The Rundown

Several people have asked about the different projects both me and my co-host Billy T have been involved in. Maybe it's for my own vain reason but I decided to list these various ventures and include links on the web were you can find them.

1) Target (2000) My first screenplay, which has been mentioned several times on the podcast, was my first attempt at making a feature length film. Produced by Big Brother's Ronnie Talbott, the film centered around a group who specialized at breaking up relationships for a fee. The production, for several reasons, was a disaster. Although we had a cast reading and completed all pre-production work on the film, we never film a single shot. A rough (and I mean rough) draft of the script can be found here (Final Drafts of any of the scripts mentioned here today can be e-mailed upon request)

2) Afterlife (2001) My follow up script dealt with a very simple concept, what would happen if the Afterlife sucked? When Alex dies and goes to Heaven, he realizes he life on Earth was more enjoyable. After he rebels, the council fears he will turn in to another Lucifer, so they detain him and place him on trial. The script was NOT well received. Gordy Hoffman, in his feedback, said the script was a rip-off (I'm paraphrasing) of Defending Your Life. You can make up your own mind here.

3) Christmasland (2001) My most famous script, one that has developed a small cult following. How can an unproduced script, written by a nobody have a cult following you ask? Well let me give you the official rundown:

"
Michael Haines' ex-girlfriend was murdered 2 years ago on Christmas. When the holiday hating Michael dies in a car accident, he wakes up in the spectacle that is Christmasland. But learning the true meaning of Christmas isn't Michael's only concern, it's a 6 foot tall serial killing nutcracker who feels a strong connection to him."

Christmasland actually had an option agreement, but I couldn't agree on the terms. Of course you can read the first draft here but there's a final draft coming soon.

4) Conversations (2002) I have always been a huge fan of Woody Allen. I love how his attempts at romantic comedy are anything but traditional. I wanted to do a homage to Allen, and capture the spirit of films like Annie Hall and Manhattan. Conversations dealt with a recently divorced screenwriter, who goes back to his hometown and tries to rekindle his relationship with his first ex-wife. Here is the link to the rough draft.

5) Last Rites (2002) My first short film. You can watch an early print here:

And as you can see (and hear), I learned a lesson that all indie filmmakers are faced with at some point: Bad sound can ruin a production

6) Extreme Art (2003) Extreme Art was my second failed attempt at making a feature length film. Making this film taught me that I enjoy writing much more than filmmaking. When you make a film you have to rely on so many other people, and if everyone isn't carrying their weight your film could fall apart. In writing you just have to worry about yourself. I think in this case everyone tried, but I failed at communicating my vision. What resulted was a cluster f*ck.

(This film was never completed but a rough cut does exist)

7) BunchaBloodyBunnies (2006) A concert film I did for the band BunchaBloodyBunnies. During this time period I was also filming the band The Lost.

8) Hilljack Samurai (2007) The viral video hit (well minor hit), and proof that I could still make something cult worthy. Below is the trailer and making of video:

9) Mass Acre Hill (2009) This old school horror film shot in HD by the prolific Francis Brothers helped me get an IMDB page, and finally made me feel like I was really involved in the film business. I'm credited with Co-Producer on this film and very proud of it. (My name even made it into a Fangoria article...how f'ing cool is that?)

10) Let Them Come Apart (2009) The script that started an online debate on voice overs. If you have listened to our show you know all about this one. If you don't then you really should be listening to our show:
