You may have noticed on Facebook and Twitter we have been talking about Christ Complex, and you want to be in the loop but you have no clue as to what we are talking about.
I am here to make this not a problem.
A common theme to our podcast- interviewees all agree in order to get a film made, quit sitting around and do something! Well, something we are doing.
Christ Complex is a film by SDCT's own Jeffrey Scott Richards, influenced by a delicate mixture of foreign arthouse and 70s rough and tough grindhouse cinema... meets Woody Allen.
Strange mixture? You betcha. The director's own words might help to explain in further detail-
"Christ Complex is your typical romantic comedy. Girl Meets Boy. Boy believes he is the world's savoir. Boy fights best friend to the death in order to stop the Apocalypse. It's kind of like Ryuhei Kitamura's Versus meets When Harry Met Sally. "
In order to achieve professional quality, we are in the fundraising and pre-production process. The sooner we reach our goal, the sooner the film will be produced. As it stands, filmming is set for January and February of 2011, however if the funds allow it will commence as soon as October.
It is our intention to go beyond simple DVD sales of Christ Complex, through means of digital downloads, Netflix and Amazon distribution. We hope to be able to take this to film festivals, and in order to do that we need to achieve high-end professional quality.
This is where you come in. We are looking for individuals willing to donate whatever they can to see this project get made. This is your film. You are making this happen, you are making this possible. There are several perks correlating to the dollar amount donated. For instance, a simple 10 dollar donation will buy you a producer credit. Yes, this means you will be listed as a producer on IMDB as well. There are several perks available for each donation amount.
